Our beloved sister and doting aunt, Melinda Joy Sumner, 52, entered into Heaven's gates on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Ray Gillis and Ms. Kristin Moore will officiate. Burial will be at Kea's Methodist Church (Adrian).
The family will receive friends Monday, from 1:00-1:45 pm at the church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Corey Hall, Dustin Hall, Brent Hall, Jimmy Stewart, Josh Powell, Justin Sumner, Dawson Brooks, and Tyler Sweat.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all employees of the Electro-Mech Scoreboard Company.
Joy was born on August 21, 1970 in Dublin, Ga.
Joy was proceeded in death by her father, Rev. Jimmy R. Sumner, and mother, Robbie Mae Reese Sumner.
Left to cherish her memories are her six siblings, Kelly (Dale) Powell, Adrian, Ga, Dean (Lora) Sumner, Adrian, Ga, Rickey (Valerie) Sumner, Dublin, Ga, Melissa (Stan) Hall, Fayetteville, Ga, Daryl (Penny) Sumner, Adrian, Ga, and Pam (Steven) Brooks, Rentz, Ga.
