Joyce Allgood Wilson

Funeral services for Joyce Lorine Allgood Wilson, age 83, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 30, 2024, at Bethsaida Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brad Ball and Rev. Samuel Wilson officiating.

Mrs. Wilson was born on February 17, 1941, in Clarksville, Virginia. She was a homemaker and member of Bethsaida Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading, sewing and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a faithful wife of 49 years to the late William Arthur Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Howard Sidney Allgood and Lena Griffin Allgood. Mrs. Wilson passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Shamrock Nursing Home.

She is survived by her two sons, Samuel A. Wilson (Kim) of Dublin and Virgil Scott Wilson of California; a daughter, Sandra Wilson Sandgren of Murfreesboro, TN; three siblings, Houston Allgood of Chase City, VA, Patrick Allgood of Macon, and Judy Glascock of South Boston, VA; three grandchildren, Caleb Wilson (Meghan), Hannah Wilson and Sawyer Wilson and several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Wilson, Jason Page, Shannon Allgood, Gene Allgood, Brad Bullard and Scott Knight.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Bethsaida Baptist Church.
