Judy Gary Cooper, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in San Marcos, Texas, surrounded by her family. She was born February 26, 1951, in Dublin, Georgia to Jewell Barton Cooper and Kathleen Rhodes Cooper. She graduated from Dublin High School in Dublin, Georgia.
Judy spent some time in Washington, D.C. working as a finger print specialist for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, before working for the State of Utah. She eventually retired from the State of Georgia. Judy was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings for the Church. She specifically enjoyed serving the children in her many callings in the Primary Presidency.
Judy is preceded in death by her father, Jewell Barton Cooper, her mother, Kathleen Rhodes Cooper, and brothers-in-law, Lamar Parker, and Clinton Ellertson.
Judy is survived by her sister, Carolyn Cooper Parker of Montrose, Georgia, brother, Joe (Peggy) Cooper of Flowery Branch, Georgia, sister, Ann Cooper Ellertson of Maxwell, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside funeral service will be held at Northview Cemetery in Dublin, Georgia on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 1:00 P.M.
