Judy S. Garrett

Mrs. Judy Smith Johnson Garrett, age 82, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center.

Mrs. Garrett was born May 30, 1943, in McRae, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Preston Albert Smith and Molly Lucile Towns Smith. She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Vernon Leonard Johnson and Robert Clinton Garrett and her daughter, Pamela Denise Sellars. She was a retired Registered Nurse where she worked for numerous hospitals. She moved to Laurens County in May of 2017 after living in McRae, Georgia for the past 74 years. She was a member of Dublin First Church of the Nazarene where she helped with Sunday School. She was a member of the Rotary Club in Telfair County. She was loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her church and absolutely enjoyed making food for the sick and elderly neighbors.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Wayne) Moody; 2 stepsons, Bobby (Debbie) Garrett and Joe (Caroline) Garrett; a daughter-in-law, Kim Garrett; a brother, Benny (Debbie) Smith; 8 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

At Mrs. Garrett’s wishes she will be memorialized by cremation and no formal services will be held.
