Funeral services for Julian "Jim" Madison Musselwhite, age 79, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Trinity Assembly of God with burial to follow in Westview Cemetery. Rev. L.T. Logue and Rev. Sonny Wilkes officiating.
Mr. Musselwhite was born on May 3, 1943, in Arabi, Georgia. In 1974, Jim, affectionately known as "Big Daddy", moved to Wrightsville from Americus, Georgia and was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God. He was a heavy equipment operator for 33 years with BASF. After retiring he could be found selling produce in the Wrightsville and Dublin area and was known to many as the "watermelon man". He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren on the ball fields. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ryska B. Musselwhite, and his in-laws, Collis and Etta Nora Trotter. Jim passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene Trotter Musselwhite of Wrightsville; son, James "Jim" (Jan) Musselwhite of Wrightsville; three grandchildren, Jon (Philly) Musselwhite of Brunswick, Jay Musselwhite and Jil Musselwhite of Wrightsville; and great grandchild, Michael Musselwhite.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 2:45 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jon Musselwhite, Jay Musselwhite, Andrew Lovell, Jessie Barber, Jimmy Underwood and John Glover.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Assembly of God, P.O. Box 44, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
