Kathleen Powell

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Ann Powell, age 76, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Dexter United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Waldrep will officiate. Mrs. Powell was born November 26, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas but has made her home in Laurens County for the past 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold G. Merz and Erna Annette Inselman Merz and her husband, Bobby Powell. She was a member of Dexter United Methodist Church and was a retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center as a Radiologic Technologist. Mrs. Powell passed away Monday, December 24, 2018. She is survived by her son, James (Jennifer) Byron Wood, two daughters, Kimberly Ann Barwick and Kasie Lynn Wood all of Dexter, two step-sons, Rob (Cara) Powell of Cadwell and Danny Powell of Dublin and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Stan Wright, Bobby Wood, Joe Sanders, Tom Sharpe, Terry Crooms and Mike Worley. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
