Kay Wayne

Mrs. Kay Wynn Smith Wayne, age 77 passed away on Monday August 11, 2014 at New Horizions Nursing Home. Mrs. Wayne was born on September 28, 1936 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Breezy and Marie Buie Wynn. She graduated from Laurens County High School where she continued her education at the University of Georgia. She was raised in Laurens County, Georgia. She was of the Lutheran Faith. She lived in Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, St. Simons, and Dublin. She was the Director of the Art Association of St. Simons Island where she was involved with the arts for many years. She was also the owner of the Pottery Studio in Laurens County. Mrs. Wayne is survived by her daughter, Mitzi Pollack of Cedar Grove, 3 sons, Don Smith of Atlanta, Tony Smith of Irvine, CA, and Vance Wayne of St. Simons, and 4 grandchildren, Toni Pollack, Ally Pollack, Hannah Wayne, and Haley Wayne. No formal services will be held per Mrs. Wayne's request. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements
