Lamar Mccoy

Funeral services for Lamar McCoy, age 88, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Warnock officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. Mr. McCoy was born October 11, 1932, in Uvalda, Georgia and served in the United States Army during the end of the Korean War. Before moving to Wrightsville, he lived in Homestead, Florida. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Owen and Annie McCoy, and his wife Betty Sue McCoy. Mr. McCoy passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his residence. He is survived by his sons Gregory McCoy, Jeffery McCoy, and Shawn McCoy all of Wrightsville, brother Broxton McCoy of Reidsville, sister Reba Peebles of East Dublin, grandchildren Stephanie, Brittany, Brandon, Melanie, and Jessica and great grandchildren Ashlynn, Dustin Jr., Noah, and Alliyah. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
