Lattie Dekle Price

Lattie Dekle Price, age 99, of Wrightsville, GA, found eternal peace on June 4, 2025, under the watchful eye of hospice and her loving daughter.


Born on November 23, 1925, Mrs. Price was the daughter of Leo and Corrine Dekle. She grew up in Metter, GA, and after graduating from high school, she moved to Atlanta, GA., to attend school.


She married Burt Price in October of 1945, and together they shared 51 wonderful years, and she was preceded in death by him in November of 1996. She was a devoted mother to Lee Price (Catherine), Everett Price (Katie), John Price (Gisele), and Mary Hudgins (Dean). She was a cherished grandmother to Robert Price (Dawn), Andy Price (Danielle), William Price (Kaitlin), Matt Price (Shikha), Leah Williams (Landon), John Hudgins, Benjamin Price (Susie), and Wilson Hudgins (Jalessa). She was blessed to have six great-grandchildren: Lainey, Nolan, Avery, Millie, Blake Rose, and Henry. She was also the beloved "Aunt Lattie" to many nieces and nephews who remember her as the matriarch of the Price family.


Mrs. Price and her husband owned a large farm in Johnson County and an insurance agency in Wrightsville for many years. She was an active member of Oaky Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Wrightsville and then Sardis Primitive Baptist Church in Kite, GA. After moving to Atlanta in 2018 to be near family, she joined the Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church.


Mrs. Price will be remembered for her gentle spirit and unwavering faith. She will also be remembered for her beautiful voice, singing at so many weddings, funerals, and other special occasions in Wrightsville, along with singing at countless beloved church events.


Funeral services will be held at Stanley Funeral Home in Wrightsville on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 3 PM. The family will receive relatives and friends at 2 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Primitive Baptist Foundation or The Foundation Fighting Blindness.


Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
