Leagle Josephine Johnson Wilkins

Mrs. Leagle Josephine Johnson Wilkins, age 95 passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Serenity Place. Mrs. Wilkins was born on April 11, 1922 in Dublin, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late George Lee and Lessie Vermelia Johnson Pullen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.J. Wilkins, and by her siblings, Louise Johnson Payne, Georgia Pullen Black, Christopher Columbus Pullen, and Nelson Pullen. She has lived in Laurens County for the past 50 years. She was a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse for Groveland Nursing Home. Mrs. Wilkins was survived by her daughter, Loretta Rochelle Brown Pope of Dublin, a brother, Clifton L. Pullen of Milledgeville, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Mrs. Wilkins was cremated. There will be no formal service, but the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Wilkins to Pleasant Springs Baptist Church at 1613 Pleasant Springs Church Road, East Dublin, GA 31027. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
