Leahdora Wilson Powell

Funeral services for Mrs. Leahdora W. Powell, 83, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Corinth Church with Rev. Wes Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Powell was born on May 13, 1937 in Wrightsville, Georgia. Leahdora was the daughter of the late Manning Wilson and Lillie Mae Meeks Wilson, and the wife of the late Bennie V. Powell. She was a member of Corinth Church. She worked for the Wrightsville Post Office before joining the Bank of Wrightsville and was bookkeeper for the family logging business. After retirement she went back to work for the postal service and began working with the Wrightsville Housing Authority. Mrs. Powell passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Emanuel Medical Center. Mrs. Powell is survived by her son, W. Kenny Powell of Kite, two granddaughters, Jessica Powell Ritchie and her husband Craig of Milton, and Kristen Powell Davis and her husband Kyle of St. Simons Island, and four great grandchildren, Leah Ritchie, London Ritchie, Suri Davis, and Aria Davis. Pallbearers will be Michael Waller, Mack Waller, Jake Jackson, Trey Powell, William James, and Waylon Wilson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Social Distancing guidelines will be in effect, and seating capacity will be limited as we are following the guidelines of the local health district and the CDC. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
