Leon A. Horne

Funeral services for Leon A. Horne, age 56, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the East Laurens High School Gym, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. O.J. Hall and Mr. Keldrick Burke will officiate.

Mr. Horne was born August 7, 1968, in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Leghmon Franklin "LF" Horne and Christine Imogene Perry Horne. He was an educator at East Laurens High School. He was a member of Oconee Baptist Church. Mr. Horne passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Farview Park Hospital.

Mr. Horne brought a warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to everything he did. He was the person we could always count on for a smile, a listening ear for each computer, printer and network malfunction we faced, and a steady hand in fixing all of our technology problems with ease and quickness.

Mr. Horne had an incredible ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, whether it was with a simple word of encouragement or his infectious laughter that could brighten any room. His passion for the students and the school was immeasurable, and it showed in every interaction, big or small. The impact Mr. Horne made will be felt for years to come, not just through the work he did, but through the relationships he built and the love he gave.

Mr. Horne is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Horne of Dublin; 2 sons, William Christopher (Christina) Horne of Choctaw, OK, and Jon Luke Horne of Dublin; 2 brothers, Buddy Horne of Clay Center, KS, and Phil Yates of St. Simons Island; 3 sisters, Linda Bell (Chris) of Milledgeville, Merry Horne of McAlpine of Milledgeville, and Patty Yates White of Milledgeville; and a grandchild, Anya Horne.

Pallbearers will be Ron McGowan, Garrett Bell, Josh Horne, Christopher Horne, Josh Weldon, and Stacy Hardy.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. Sunday, November 10, 2024, at East Laurens High School Gym.
