Lettie Pearl Harden

Funeral services for Mrs. Lettie Pearl Harden, age 88 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Harden was born on March 17, 1928 in Plant City, Florida. She was the daughter of the late John Willard and Allie Julia Buser Fleming. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Alvin Harden, and a sister, Julia Lee Fleming. She was one of the 1st women welders at age 14 where she welded on the USS Yosemite which was the 4th ship of the United States Navy to bear the name, and was commissioned on March 25, 1944 at Tampa, FL. She moved from Tampa, FL 15 years ago and made her home in Wilkinson County, Georgia. Mrs. Harden passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Harden is survived by her 2 sons, Wayne (Linda) King of Largo, FL, and Donald Connell of Irwinton, 3 daughters, Jennifer Connell of Irwinton, Barbara (Richard) LA Mountain of Tampa, FL, and Rita Faye King Goff of GA, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a niece, 2 nephews, and 8 four legged grandbabies. Pallbearers will be Branson Prosser, Eric Vinson, Adam Wall, Thomas Cason, Jase Stubbs, and Heith Stubbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Lynn, and Blake Lynn. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
