Lila Veal Roberts

Funeral services for Lila Veal Roberts, age 92, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home with burial to follow in Westview Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Veal will officiate. Ms. Roberts was born May 2, 1929, in Johnson County, Georgia. She was a member of Piney Mount Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her siblings. She enjoyed working in her yards and being the best cook around. She would feed anyone that stopped to visit. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Elmo Roberts, her parents, Cosby L. Veal, Sr and Gracie Waller Veal, and her siblings, Myra Claxton, Annie Laura Joiner, Lenora (Skeeter) Joiner, and Cosby (Boker) L. Veal, Jr. Ms. Roberts passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Serenity Place Hospice. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda R. Keen, grandchildren, Bobby (Carla) Dollar, Brad (Alison) Dollar and Marcie Dickerson, siblings, Vivian Skipper, Mary Lyles, Nell Hogan, Delma Veal, and Chester (Suzanne) Veal, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Dollar, Brad Dollar, Daniel Dollar, Devin Dollar, Jay Townsend and Matt Townsend. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Rowland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Piney Mount Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Mrs. Dale Veal. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
