Lillian Leona Queen

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Leona Welborn Queen, age 87, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Richard N. Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Rowland will officiate. She was born in Clayton, Georgia April 12, 1927 but has made her home in East Dublin since 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Floyd Queen of East Dublin, a son, Calvin Ray Queen, her parents, William Lester Welborn and Bertha Irene Holcomb Welborn, a brother, Carlton Welborn and two sisters, Lenora Robinson and Louise Henslee all of Clayton, Georgia. She has been a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Clayton, Georgia for many years. As an avid caregiver, her heart and home was always open to the children and elderly in the community. Caring and tending to those she loved could also be seen in her passion for her vegetable garden and flowers. After her health began declining, she continued to tend to those she loved the most, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Queen passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. She is survived by her children, Thomas Earl (Wanda) Queen of Fort Valley, Emily (Alton) Rowland of East Dublin, Earnest (Joy) Queen of Gray, Elaine (Raymond) Wilson of Wrightsville and Joyce (Russell Strickland) Ledger of Tennille, a sister, Naomi McClain of Clayton, ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Queen, Lee Williamson, Keith Rowland, Christopher Rowland, Hunter Rowland and Tyler Rowland. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
