Lloyd Franklin Andrews

May 10, 1935 — May 6, 2018

Funeral services for Lloyd Franklin Andrews, age 82 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church old sanctuary with interment to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Robert Rogers, Rev. Lock Wilford, and Rev. Cecil Klegg will officiate. Mr. Andrews was born May 10, 1935 in Duplin County, North Carolina and was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Hill Andrews and Mary James Andrews, and later a son, Wade Franklin Andrews. He was an only child for 12 years when he was then blessed with a brother William Hill Andrews, sisters, Elizabeth Andrews, Annette Andrews, and Mary Rose Andrews. His parents being in the grocery business and tobacco farmers, and Frank having no interest in either, joined the United States Army. While stationed in Fort Gordon, GA he and his first wife Mary Ann Quinn Peacock had a son, Wade. Following honorable discharge from the Army he began a career in the automobile business as a bookkeeper in Jacksonville, NC and auto salesman in Pink Hill, NC. During that time his daughter Debbie was born. In 1964 he moved to Dublin, GA to become sales/general manager at Peacock Chevrolet. Then along came his son, Shannon Andrews. He became part owner in Peacock Chevrolet and then owner of Frank Andrews Chevrolet. He then married Marcia Glynn McAdams Evans who had three children, Joshua, Jada, and Jennifer Evans. His love of cars, trucks, sales, and pleasing his customers with a good deal afforded him a career in the automobile business from bookkeeper, sales manager, general manager to part owner to dealer owner/operator for over 50 years. He was on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Automobile Association. He was given golf clubs, fishing poles, etc., but if it was not about automobiles, sales or real estate he was not interested. He simply loved the business. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marcia Glynn McAdams Andrews, daughter, Debra Andrews Stone, son, Shannon Andrews, stepson, Joshua Evans, stepdaughters, Jada Evans (Richard) Scott, and Jennifer Evans (Joey) Thomas all of Dublin, Laurens County, GA area. Also he is survived by his grandson, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) Andrews of Waycross, GA, granddaughter, Kelly Andrews of Alma, GA, grandson, Chandler Stone of Rome, GA, and step-grandchildren, Kailie, Kloie, and Karlie, Scott and Jaxten and Jordyn Thomas of Dublin, GA area. Also he is survived by his brother, William (Brenda) Andrews of Jacksonville, NC, sisters, Elizabeth Andrews of Chinquapin, NC, Annette Andrews Giddeons (Leophas) of Wallace, NC, and Mary Rose Andrews of Charlotte, NC.
