Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Fulford Sweat, age 81, will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Ivey Baptist Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Mark Sweat will officiate.
Mrs. Sweat was born December 12, 1936 in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late, Bernice and Leslie Fulford, her brothers, Larry Fulford, R.V. Fulford, Lehman Fulford and Leon Fulford, a sister, Ina Mae Fulford, a granddaughter, Laurie Tanner Sullivan and extended family members, Jean "Mimi" Sweat, Herman Sweat, Stanley & Burma Pacetti and Marie & Robert Hutcheson. She was a longtime member of Ivey Baptist Church and was retired from Johnson County Prison. Alongside her husband, they were the owners/operators of Sweat's Fish Camp for more than 20 years. Mrs. Sweat passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Amos Sweat of Wrightsville, two sons, Ray (Jean) Sweat of Meridian, MS and Tony (Dawn) Sweat of Gordon, a daughter, Gwen (Ronnie) Carter of Wrightsville, two nieces, Margaret Mimbs and Leona Fulford and dedicated family members, Wain Sweat, Claudette (Buddy) Brown, Ronny (Patricia) Sweat, Kenneth (Marilyn) Sweat, Shirley (Lester) Underwood, Pinchie (Billy) Walden and Thelma Sweat, six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until funeral hour Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Sweat, Dwain Sweat, Cody Freeman, Casey Young, Andy Dixon and Lewis Akridge
