Louie Gene Poole, Sr.

Graveside funeral services for Louie Gene Poole, Sr., age 79 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Allen and Mr. James Tanner will officiate. Mr. Poole was born November 23, 1942, in Aiken, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Louie Wade and Myrtle Crosby Poole. He was also preceded in death by his son, Stuart Alan Poole, a brother, Jerry Poole, and 3 sisters, Dorothy Poole, Louise Smith, and Carolyn Jenkins. He was retired from the Piggly Wiggly in Wrightsville. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Ivey Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was a former Police Officer for the City of Wrightsville. Mr. Poole passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Poole is survived by his son, Louie Gene (Christina) Poole, Jr. of Wrightsville, a daughter, Karen Leigh (Ben) Poole Joiner of Harrison, 3 brothers, Tommy (Lynn) Poole of Dublin, Larry (Janice) Poole of Dublin, and Rickey (Alice) Glover of Harrison, a sister, Gail Harrison of Haflin, AL, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Wesley) Lewis, Tiffany Bailey, Matthew Poole, Cyler Poole, Conner Poole, Megan (Chad) Geiger, Alana (Darrian Turner) Poole, and Morgan (J.D.) Todd, and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 PM Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
