Louis Joseph "Joe" Stallings, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2021, in Dublin, Georgia. Mr. Stallings was born June 2, 1950, in Newport News, Virginia. He was the son of the late Thomas J. Stallings and Lena M. Stallings Huskey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Rodney E. Stallings. He is survived by his brother, Thomas H. Stallings, of Jacksonville, Florida, his sister, Yvonne S. Metzdorf, of Dublin, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe had a true love for life, always laughing and telling stories to anyone who would listen. Growing up as the youngest of 4, he took full advantage of being the baby in the family with ever a mischievous prank or joke. Later, his infectious laugh and boisterous nature drew those he knew ever closer. He relished the role of Uncle and spoiled his nieces and nephews like they were his own. Bear hugs and sloppy kisses were freely given, along with unsolicited advice and life wisdoms. Occasionally, Joe enjoyed a good scotch almost as much as his cigars and was prone to savoring one or both out on the front porch.
Joe had a successful career in insurance and retired after 45 years devoted to the industry where he helped individuals and companies make informed decisions about their insurance and benefits. He worked in many areas of insurance as an agent, manager, agency owner, and partner for companies like 1st Stop Insurance Company, The Stallings Group, Inc., Colonial Life Insurance Company, and P K Kelley Insurance Agency, LLC.
Services for Joe Stallings will be held for the family in Newport News, Virginia, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents and brother at Peninsula Memorial Park.
