Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Louise Smith, age 77, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Sammy Hall and Rev. Michael Bailey will officiate. Mrs. Smith was born June 26, 1939 in Wrightsville, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Wade Poole & Myrtle Louise Crosby Poole, her husband, William Herschel Smith, Sr., a brother, Jerry Wayne Poole and a sister, Dorothy Nell Poole. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was the former bookkeeper for Smithco. Timber Company. She is survived by 3 sons, William Herschel Smith, Jr., Jeffery Hugh (Lisa) Smith and Jason Craig (Amanda May) Smith all of Wrightsville, 6 grandchildren, William Casey (Dorsie) Smith, Jonathan (Tabatha) Smith, Jeffery Neil Smith, Brandon Colby Smith, William Mayson Smith and Dallas Wayne Smith, four great-grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Nicole Smith, Natalie Smith and Amy Smith and her brothers and sisters, Jerry Wayne Poole, Tommy Joseph Poole, Louie Gene Poole, Larry Wade Poole, Carolyn Elaine Jenkins, Richard Dean Glover, Brenda Gail Harrison, Louie Wade Poole, Jr., Lloyd Wayne Poole and Bob Herbert Poole. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Andy Smith, Gene Poole, Stuart Poole, Hugh Foskey, Montana Foskey and Colby Jordan. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
