Mae Helen Bassett

Mrs. Mae Helen Bassett, age 76, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Bassett was born December 10, 1947, in Alamo, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Gordon C. and Irene Stevens Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Bassett, Sr. She retired from the Laurens County School system where she worked in the school lunchroom at East Laurens Middle School.

Mrs. Bassett is survived by her sons, Alex (Wilma) Bassett of East Dublin, Richard (Melissa) Bassett of Dublin, and Patrick Bassett of East Dublin, 2 daughters, Georgia (Mike) Veal of East Dublin, and Sandy (Jason) Wiley of Swainsboro, and grandchildren, Chase (Reagan) Bassett, Gracie Bassett, Allen (Chasity) Bassett, Matthew Bassett, Madison Veal, Andrew Veal, Cole Veal, Ethan Veal, Gannon Wiley, and George Ann Wiley, 3 great-grandchildren, Parker, Hunter, and Brayden, and 4 fur babies, Chug, Little Debbie, Rosie, and Minnie.

Mrs. Bassett will be memorialized by cremation. There are no services scheduled.
