Mamie Powell Roberson

Memorial services for Mrs. Mamie Roberson, age 78, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Poplar Springs South Baptist Church. Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate. Mrs. Roberson was born on October 28, 1936 in Chester, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Hattie Floyd Powell. She was also preceded in death by her son, Curtis May, a brother, Donald Powell, and 4 sisters, Marie Fountain, Sue Cumbie, Becky Powell, and Pauline Fountain. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Poplar Springs South Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberson passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Roberson is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Terry Roberson of Dublin, 7children, Robert Dale (Anna) May of Dublin, Lynette Alligood of Dexter, Linda Bass of Dublin, Jeff (Antoniette) May of Dublin, David May of Dublin, Karen (Tim) M. Spivey of Dublin, and Roger May of Dublin, 3 brothers, James Powell of Ocala, FL, Jimmy Powell of Orlando, FL, and Gene Powell of Orlando, FL, a sister, Judy Marion of Orlando, FL, 10 grandchildren, Cole Currie, Chris Brown, Casey May, Jennifer May, Tray Platt, Clay Platt, Jonathan May, and Curtis May, Leah Spivey, and Drew Spivey, and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Roberson to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
