Margaret Lizette Mauldin

September 9, 1942 — February 16, 2025

Margaret Lizette Mauldin, born Sept 9, 1942, in New York City, passed away Sunday February 16, 2025, on her terms, in her home of natural causes. She was proceeded in death by her parents Wilfred Pabon and Margarita Hernandez Cardona, her sister Yvonne Pabon Lopez, and her husband Gene Mauldin.

She worked as a dental hygienist for Chester (Chet) Soliz DMD for many years in Yonkers, New York. He was not only her employer but a dear lifelong friend. She left Yonkers and moved to Long Island where she was a business owner and years later retired as New Yorkers do to Florida. Although "retired" she never really stopped working, and became a gypsy of sorts, living in Pennsylvania and different parts of Florida until settling in Thundering Springs, Georgia in April of 2000. She was a hardworking and determined woman and worked several different places in Dublin but ultimately ended up owning and operating the country store on Ben Hall Lake.

Known as Maggie to most but Titi to her Georgia family, she was a phenomenal cook, wife, mother, grandmother (Nana) friend and neighbor. If you ever met her, you could never forget her.

She loved the beach, a good book, a great novella, old black & white movies, music of all kinds, but her biggest love was for her family. She adored her children and grandchildren; they were her beating heart.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond Arenas of Yonkers NY, Roger Arenas of Utica NY, one daughter Liz Romano (John) of Massapequa NY, one daughter/niece Bonnie Slater (Paul) of Dublin GA, two granddaughters Sidney Romano Donahue (Michael), Jessica Romano, three grandsons Johnny Romano (Francesca Ferraro) all of Long Island NY, Lucas Smith of Hampton VA and Dalton Arenas, of Northville NY, several cousins, a nephew and a niece, and a great grand who is on the way.

She also was an avid donor so in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St Jude's Hospital for Children or the charity most dear to your heart.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of arrangements.
