A memorial service for Mr. Marion Rayford Pollett, age 74, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Richard N. Stanley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Watkins and Rev. Allen Meeks will officiate.
Mr. Pollett was born December 10, 1940 in Johnson County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late William Owen Pollett, Sr. and Lilly Dell Price Pollett, a daughter, Amithy Pollett and two brothers, William Owen Pollett, Jr. and Carlos Ashley Pollett. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served with the United States Army. He was retired from the City of Sandersville and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Pollett passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Mary McCoy Pollett of Swainsboro, a daughter, Tricia Pollett (Michael) Padgett of Mitchell, three step-children, Johnny Newsome of Swainsboro, Charlotte Blocker of Swainsboro and Jan Newsome of Glennville, two brothers, Buford Jordan (Mary Elizabeth) Pollett of Wrightsville and Delma Eugene (Pauline) Pollett of Cartersville, two sisters, Katherine Lauren (Mark) Morgan of Ludowici and Mary Dell (Roger) Thornton of Camilla, an uncle, Ferman Rachels of Wrightsville, two granddaughters, Anna Padgett and Ally Padgett of Mitchell, six step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
