Marion Janice (Sawyer) Poole

November 10, 1939 — March 23, 2025

Marion Janice (Sawyer) Poole, a lifelong resident of Dublin, Georgia, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on March 23 2025.


Born on November 10, 1939, Janice lived a life defined by love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.


Janice was a pillar of the Dublin community, known for her warm smile and generous spirit. As the longtime owner of Janice's Furniture and Antiques, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her customers weren't just patrons; they were friends who became like family.


A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Dublin Ward), Janice's faith was unwavering. Her love for the gospel shone brightly in everything she did, and she found joy in serving others. Visitation will be in the chapel starting at 10:30 am followed by services at 12 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints located at 1605 Green Street in Dublin Ga. Burial will be at Rock Springs Baptist Church cemetery followed by a meal at the church building in Dublin.


Janice was preceded in death by her beloved children, Eddie Thomas Howell and Barbara Jean (Howell) Bryan. She was also preceded by her brother Robbie David (Buddy) Sawyer, Father Robert Lee Sawyer and Mother Arl Vustus (Dixon) Sawyer. While their absence left a void in her heart, she found solace in her enduring faith and the love of her family.


She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Larry Wade Poole of Dublin, Georgia, a testament to their enduring bond. Larry and Janice were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington DC Temple June 19 1980. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sons Freddie Hugh (Darla) Howell of Rentz, Georgia; Chris Wayne (Alicia) Howell of Dublin, Georgia; Daniel (Randy) Randolph (Tamara) Poole of Stafford, Virginia; and Stacie Michelle (Poole) (Duane) Usry of Dublin, Georgia. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Jane (Sawyer) Daniels, Pamela Kay (Sawyer) Gay and brother, Jimmy Dean Sawyer.


Janice's legacy of love extends to her cherished 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her love will continue to guide and inspire them.


Janice's kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind.


Pallbearers will be Jonathan Eric Howell, Brandon Michael Howell, Alan Baggett, Jason Patterson, Duane Usry and Adam Gay.


Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
