Martin Carmen Caneega

Funeral services for Mr. Martin Carmen Caneega, age 87, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Arline Chapel Methodist Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Jody Martin, Mr. Jerry Phillips and Rev. John Walker will officiate. Mr. Caneega was born May 5, 1927 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Lois Lampp Caneega, his parents, Andrew Caneega and Corene Hammock Caneega. He was a member of Arline Chapel Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 45 years. He was retired as a farmer and as a mechanic from the Englehard Corporation. He was a member of the Johnson County Young Farmers Association and the Cattleman's Association. Mr. Caneega passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015. He is survived by his two sons, James Andrew (Andy) & Vickie Caneega of Dublin and Carmen T. & Nell Caneega of Wrightsville, 4 grandchildren, Terri Dawn Hubbard, James Andrew (Buddy) Caneega, John Martin (Marty) Caneega and Eric Carmen Caneega, 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Caneega, Nathan Poole, Carl Caneega, Mark Caneega, Ron Bray and Ricky Powell. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
