Funeral services for Mary Ann Quinn Peacock, age 84, of Dublin, Ga., will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 26, 2022, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Kim Dixon will officiate. Mary Ann was born in Kinston, NC on March 28, 1938. She was the daughter of the late R.L. Quinn and the late Clara Mae Jarman Quinn. Mary Ann is also preceded in death by her brothers Edsel Quinn, Thomas S. Quinn, Jerry Quinn, and her sister Loraine Quinn Worley all from Duplin County, NC. Additionally, she is preceded death by her first husband Frank Andrews, her second husband Roderick T. Peacock, Jr., and her oldest son Wade Andrews all of Dublin, Ga.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Beulaville High School in Beulaville, NC. Following high school, she married Frank Andrews. They had three children, Wade, Debbie, and Shannon. Later she married Rod Peacock, Jr. of Dublin, and they enjoyed extensive travel throughout Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
During the course of her life, she was a homemaker, a telephone operator, a private seamstress, employee of Uniroyal and RC Bottling Company of Dublin, and lastly a deputy clerk for Superior Court of Laurens County for 13 years.
Mary Ann had a beautiful singing voice and loved singing harmony with her sisters. She simply loved music, and additionally loved to hear the birds sing in her backyard. She was fascinated by birds and loved birdhouses and feeders to attract them to her yard to watch and hear the birds sing.
Mary Ann and her late husband Rod Peacock, Jr., were members of Pine Forest Methodist Church and enjoyed cards and visits from many members during their convalescence. Many thanks to the staff, nurses, and workers at Scott Health and Rehabilitation for the personal and loving care administered to Mary Ann during her extended stay with her "angels" at Scott. Mary Ann passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at Scott Health and Rehabilitation.
Mary Ann leaves behind her daughter Debra Andrews Stone of Dublin, grandson Chandler Stone of Atlanta, her youngest son Rex Shannon Andrews (Tonya) of Rentz, her other grandson Jeremy Andrews (Katelyn) of Waycross, granddaughter Kelly Andrews Smith (Joey) of Alma, sisters Peanie Quinn Price and Julia Quinn King both of Duplin County, NC and several nieces and nephews of North Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Andrews, Chandler Stone, Thomas Wilson, Brad Couey, Bill Bradham and Alex Buzzell.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
