Mary Claire Cox

Funeral services for Mary Claire Cox, age 95, will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Donnie Baker officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Butler Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Cox was born on July 30, 1929, in Butler, Georgia. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Barnes Kirksey and Mabel Wright Kirksey; husband, Byron Bernon Cox; grandson, Dalton Cook and a daughter, Marion Claire Gelman. Mrs. Cox passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Gean Cook (Donnie) of Summerfield, FL; 4 grandchildren, Robert Byron Stepheson, David Cook (Leslie), April Bosshard (Heath), Sabrina Gelman Olender (Matt); great grandchildren, Robbie Stephenson (Emily), Carlee Cook, Reagan Cook, Wyatt Donahue, Heather Bosshard, Holden Bosshard, and Brennan Gelman; and great-great grandchild, Ava Stephenson.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
