Mary Powell

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Belcher Powell, age 80, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday May 26, 2015 at Brown Memorial Baptist Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge will officiate. Mrs. Powell was born April 3, 1935 in Johnson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Ellie Belcher and Nannie Bell Harrison Belcher. She was a member of Brown Memorial Baptist and the Sodalitan Sunday School class. She was formerly employed as a receptionist at Washington County Internal Medicine and was a former seamstress. Mrs. Powell passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Daley Powell, two sons, Rickey (Susan) Powell and Rex (Wendy) Powell all of Wrightsville, a sister, Marjorie Frost of Bartow, four grandchildren, Matthew Powell, Miranda New, Mandy Powell and Krystal Tanner and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 25, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Matt Powell, James New, Toby Tanner, Anthony Frost, Alan Frost and Jeff Powell. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
