Maurice Burns

Funeral services for Mr. William Maurice Burns, age 91, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Kite Baptist Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Burton Dixon will officiate. Mr. Burns was born July 16, 1923 in Johnson County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Thomas E. (Jack) Burns and Lillie Oliver Burns, his wife, Virginia Lee Frost Burns, his daughter, Marsha Burns Hall and a grandson, Jacob Hall. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of Kite Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 38 years of service as a rural mail carrier and he was also a farmer. Mr. Burns passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014. He is survived by his grandson, Mitch (Amber) Hall of Wrightsville, a great- grandson, Ayden Hall and a great-granddaughter, Kynley Hall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rabon Price, Baker Oliver, Tommy Frost, David Carey, Lewie Fortner and Troy Hall. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
