Funeral services for Mildred Elizabeth Jackson Witchen, age 93 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 27, 2021, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Henry Lee will officiate. Mrs. Witchen was born April 21, 1928, in New Orleans, LA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ione Booker Weber. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles L. Jackson and William L. Witchen. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was a house parent for the Baptist Children's Village in Mississippi. Mrs. Witchen passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, in Lakeland, Florida.
Mrs. Witchen is survived by her son, Glenn Jackson; 4 daughters, Linda Lee, Brenda Spears, Debra Caldwell, and Kathy Skinner; 2 siblings, Mike Winchester, and Eliska Thiels, 15 grandchildren, Stacey, Glenna, Jake, Jessie, April, Terri, Amy, Paige, Drew, Matt, Clayton, Hilaree, Aubree, Kristen, and Kaitlin; 38 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sean Milner, David Rainey, Edgar Fowler, Donnie Reeves, Matthew Spears, and Drew Spears.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Witchen to Baptist Children's Village at 114 Marketridge Drive, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or to Gideon International at P.O. Box 27, Dublin, GA 31040.
