Mona Miller Pitts

March 4, 1958 — August 2, 2025

Funeral services for Mona Jo Miller Pitts, age 67, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Pine Forest Methodist Church with interment to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Dexter. Dr. Joel Dent will officiate.

Mona was known and will be remembered for her kindness and her generosity, at all times and toward everyone. She made family the most important thing in her life – she worked hard to bring and keep together the people she loved. She maintained ties with her ancestors; she adored her brother and sisters and their families, as well as her cousins; and she loved her children and grandchildren more than anything or anyone else. Her one wish in life was to be a good mom, and her kids wouldn't trade her for any mother in the world. Most importantly, she was beloved MiMi to Andrew and Elizabeth.

Mona loved music, and she excitedly shared music with people she loved. She enjoyed travel; being at the beach with her kids, grandkids, and friends was her heaven on earth.

Mona Jo was born on March 4, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Joseph C. Miller and Ruth Thomas Miller. She was a resident of Dublin, Georgia, where she was a member of Pine Forest Methodist Church, Dublin Service League, Erin Garden Club, Bunco Babes, and West Laurens High School Bicentennial Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Moreland Miller and sister-in-law Linda S. Miller and brothers-in-law Jim Wyatt and Jim Helton. Ms. Pitts passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home, with her children and loving family by her side.

She is survived by her son, Justin Hal (Blake Fortson) Pitts of Newnan; daughter, Jessica Leigh Pitts (Drew) Battle of Wadley; five sisters, Mary Lou (Larry) Garrett of Pensacola, FL; Becky Helton of Dublin; Ruth Anne (Don) Bryant of Dexter; Martha Wyatt of Dublin; and Rhonda (Joe Altobellis) Hahn of St. Marys; sister-in-law, Karin Miller of Hinesville; two grandchildren, Andrew Wayne Battle, Jr. and Elizabeth Leigh Battle of Wadley; nieces and nephews, (Samantha & Jeff Kettle, Matthew Garrett, Sandy & Jennifer Miller, Jon Miller, David & Jennifer Bryant, Diane & Brock Wilcher, Adam Wyatt, and Cole Wyatt); and great nieces and nephews, (Taylor & James Wilson, Garrett Kettle, Jacob Garrett, Zachery Garrett, Parker Bryant, Caleb Bryant, Logan Wilcher, Luke Wilcher, and Josie Miller).

Heartfelt thanks to Pruitt Health Hospice nurses Chassidy, Marilyn, Ashley, Lynn, Sharon, and Brandi.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 4, 2025, at Pine Forest Methodist Church.
