Myrrel Franklin Carroll, age 95, of Wrightsville passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Serenity Hospice. Mr. Carroll was born July 26, 1923 in Telfair County. He was the second of eight children born to the late Bennie and Alta Carroll. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorcas Mimbs Carroll, brothers James Carroll, Arnold Carroll, Huey Carroll, Jimmie Carroll, and sister Gladys Foskey. Mr. Carroll was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the WWII conflict in 11 countries helping liberate citizens from the Germans. He was proud to have had the privilege of serving his country. After the war, he worked as a contractor and farmer. He was the co-owner of Carroll's Produce and was a familiar vendor at Dublin's Market on Madison. He was a member of Mount Olive Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his 2 daughters, Ann (Hollis) Parmer of Wrightsville and Carolyn (Ed) Daniels of Dublin, 3 grandchildren, Trina (Jason) Bullington of LaGrange, Blake Daniels (Kim Meeks) of Dublin, Lauren (Jeremy) Evans of Dublin, 3 great-grandchildren, Anna Bullington, Garrett Bullington, and Blakelee Evans, 1 brother, Jack Carroll of Dublin, and 1 sister, Christine Foskey of Warner Robins.
Pallbearers will be Robert Soles, Edwin Knight, Autry Brantley, Doyle Knight, Billy Thompson, and Gary McCord.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, at 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Church of the Nazarene. The services will be officiated by Rev. Tim Tharp and Rev. Myron Wise. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at the church prior to the funeral service.
