Myrtle Carter Waddell

Funeral services for Myrtle Carter Waddell, age 88 will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Darren Talley will officiate. Mrs. Waddell was born on July 5, 1928 in Wrightsville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Addie Flanders Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Waddell, her sisters, Clara Ryals, Mazie Coons, Mary Faye Branch, Addie Lee Webb, and brothers, Raymond Carter, Elmer Carter, Franklin Carter, and Milo Carter. She was a member of the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene. She was a retired L.P.N. where she worked in the Emergency Room for Fairview Park Hospital. Mrs. Waddell passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Waddell is survived by her son, Joseph Carlton (Pat) Spence of Haddock, a daughter, Brenda Waddell Vanderveen of Dublin, a brother, Gary (Audrey) Carter, Sr. of Cary, a sister, Joyce Moran of Perry, 3 grandchildren, Carla (Benjie) Knight, JoAnna (William) Smith, and Joey (Brittney) Spence, 4 great grandchildren, Hunter (Jessica) Dunlap, Marley Spires, Brittany Knight, and Anabelle Spence, and 2 great-great grandchildren, Carly Dunlap, and M.J. Sandoval. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
