Nandell Blount Claxton

Funeral services for Mrs. Nandell Blount Claxton, age 95 will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Brown Memorial Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Roger Holley and Rev. Alvis Richardson will officiate. Mrs. Claxton was born on November 14, 1921 in Wrightsville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Horace Elmer and Maude Renfroe Blount. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lovett Claxton. She was a lifelong resident of Johnson County, Georgia. She was a member of Brown Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Claxton passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Wrightsville Manor. Mrs. Claxton is survived by her 4 sons, Herschel Edison Claxton of Wrightsville, Cecil Carlton Claxton, Sr. of Dublin, James Edward Claxton of Wrightsville, and Charlie Nelson Claxton of Wrightsville, 2 daughters, Nan Celete Claxton Cherry of Dublin, and Livia Dell Claxton Lindsey of Wrightsville, a sister, Janice Blount Allred of Eatonton, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jim Claxton, Sean Claxton, Carl Claxton, Marty Claxton, Conrey Claxton, Josh Claxton, Matthew Lindsey, and Will Brantley. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Hattaway, Gary Sumner, Steve Sumner, Harry Blount, Gil Claxton and Billy Claxton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
