Nellie Graham Meeks Veal

Nellie Graham Meeks Veal passed away Sunday, June23, 2019, at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin. She was born on September 22, 1926 in Johnson County to the late Foster and Louise Graham. She attended the Pleasant Grove one-room school house and then the Wrightsville schools. She graduated from Wrightsville High School. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Alfonza Meeks and her second husband, Ralph (Bo) Veal. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Kenneth Bush, her sisters, Iris Bray of Bloomingdale, Mildred Garnto of Macon and Joyce Brown of East Dublin. Mrs. Veal had been an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church where she enjoyed working in the nursery and participating in the WMU. She was the church cemetery historian and oversaw its upkeep. She is survived by her sons, Ralph Veal, Jr., and Robert (Cheryl) Veal of Wrightsville and a daughter, Ann Meeks Bush of Wrightsville. Her grandchildren are Ken(Peggy) Bush of Buford, Deana (Issac) Hardee of Broken Bow Nebraska and Rob Veal of Wrightsville. Her great grandchildren are Lila Kate, Nolan, Luke and Nathaniel Bush of Buford. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy T. Graham and Larry (Maulene) Graham of East Dublin and her sisters, Dale Pierce and Kay (Keith) Alligood of East Dublin. Mrs. Veal enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking, and catering to her grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Veal will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Stanley Funeral Home in Wrightsville, Georgia. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
