Nyla Wilkes Fennell, age 93, passed away May 27, 2017 at her home in Rentz.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 2pm at Northview Cemetery in Dublin with the Reverend Darren Talley officiating.
Mrs Fennell was a retired school bus driver for the Laurens County Board of Education. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Nyla was born February 6, 1924, in Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her parents, William McKinley and Lora Strange Wilkes; her husband, Charlie G. Fennell, Jr; her infant daughter, Connie Elaine; her brothers, Rewel, Larry, Grady and Charles Wilkes of Dublin; and one sister, Nellie W. Blalock, of Midville.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Ramey of Rentz; two grandsons, Scott (Wendy) Williams, of Dexter; and Daniel Williams of Jacksonville, Fla; and one granddaughter, Amanda Payne, of Rentz; three great-granddaughters, Martina (Hunter) DeClemente, of Jacksonville, Fla; Rhiannon Williams, of Dexter; and Dakotah Williams, of Dexter; and one great-grandson, Noah Payne, of Rentz; sister, Hazel W. McNutt, of Augusta; brother, Gene (Shelba) Wilkes, of Swainsboro; sisters-in-law, Claire S. Wilkes and Patricia F. Wilkes, both of Dublin, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs Fennell was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Naomi Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord and her family, and had many friends young and old. She had a beautiful spirit that was known to all that met and loved her.
