Ola Jaunice Morton

Funeral services for Ola Jaunice Morton, age 95, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Rentz Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rentz City Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann and Rev. Grady Mimbs will officiate.

Mrs. Morton was born on December 23, 1928, in Dublin, Georgia to the late Thadis and Lucille Garrett Moore. She was a graduate of the Lowery School, where she played on the basketball team. She was married to the late Aubrey E. "Jack" Morton and retired from the J.P. Stevens Co. She was a member of Rentz Baptist Church. She loved cooking, quilting, sewing, fishing, blue grass-gospel music and tending to her vegetable and flower garden. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she enjoyed her daily telephone calls with her dear friend, Shirley Cathey, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Moore. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Moore, Fleeta Rountree, Annette Swinson and T.H. Moore; and son-in-law, Gary Rowland Yarbrough. Mrs. Morton passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in AU Medical Center of Augusta.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Morton Yarbrough; two sons, Mike Morton (Ann) and Jeffery Morton (Ahme); six grandchildren, Nathan Morton (Katy), Thad Morton (Haylie), Daniel Yarbrough (Jeana), David Morton (Kristin), Jacky Morton (Janna), and Dakota Murphy (Skip); and nine great grandchildren, Kimberly Morton, Dayten Yarbrough, Danielle Morton, Sawyer Morton, David Morton, Grayson Yarbrough, Lily Morton, Brooks Morton, Ruby Claire Morton and expecting her 10th great grandchild, Rynleigh Morton in June.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Yarbrough, Jacky Morton, David Morton, Nathan Morton, Thad Morton and Dayten Yarbrough. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sawyer Morton, David Morton II, Greyson Yarbrough, Brooks Morton, Skip Murphy, Caleb Skipper, Danny Daniels, Larry Swinson, Dana Swinson, Charles Swinson, Bobby Moore, Justin Veal and Doug Ward.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will be meeting at the Morton residence at 2129 Davidson St. Rentz, GA. 31075.
