Funeral services for Ouida Horne Brown, age 92, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 19, 2024, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Kyle Giddens will officiate.
Mrs. Brown was born on June 14, 1931, in Eastman, Georgia to Horace and Lydia Sapp Horne. She was married to the late James "J.D." Brown, and in their younger years they would travel the southeast for the love they both shared of square dancing. She had a passion for education, never missing a day of school from the first grade to college. She retired with the Dublin City Schools as a second-grade teacher and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She took great pride in her home, enjoyed working in the yards and tending to her flower garden. Mrs. Brown was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. She passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at her residence.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Judy) Brown; sister, Bobbie Hogg; granddaughter, Lydia (Devin) Ward; and two great grandchildren, Colton Brown and Wilder Ward.
Pallbearers will be Trey Fausett, Phil Fausett, David Mullis, Jim Mullis, John Harvey and William Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Hogg, Max Alligood and Danny Mullis.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Friday, April 19, 2024, at the funeral home.
