Memorial Services for Ovid Jackson, age 82 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2024, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel.


Mr. Jackson was born August 30, 1941, in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Carl and Willie Mae Ivey Jackson. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Kenneth Jackson, a sister, Joyce Sullivan, and a brother, Leland Jackson. He retired from W.F. Jackson Construction Company. He was a member of Wesley Chapel. Mr. Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.


Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Betty Jackson of Tennille, a son, Jerrell Jackson of Harlem, a daughter, Kathy Jackson Oliver of Tennille, a chosen daughter, Hong Xiang of Sandersville, 2 brothers, Loy (Judy) Jackson of Hopkinsville, KY, and Frank (Kyle) Jackson of Centerville, 2 sisters, Joan Hall of Midville, and Janice (Johnny Faye) McAfee of Wrightsville, 2 grandchildren, Will (Sydney) Oliver, Alana (Luke) Fulwood, and great-grandchildren, River Oliver, Rylan Oliver, and Baby Fulwood.


The family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson at 797 Carl Jackson Road, Tennille, GA 31089 immediately after the memorial service.


Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
