Patricia Smith Jackson, affectionately known as Pat-Pat especially by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, passed away peacefully at her home on Ohoopee River Road on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Mrs. Jackson was born on December 22, 1933, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert Cecil Smith, Sr. and Dorothy Heath Smith. She was a resident of Johnson County for 75 years and was a member of Wrightsville First Christian Church. In her early years she worked as a teacher for Johnson County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Forrest (Billy) Jackson, Sr., her baby brother, Robert Cecil Smith, Jr. and her sister, June Smith Chambers. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children; Mary Elizabeth (Maribeth) Jackson Shiver (Wess), William F. (Bill) Jackson, Jr. (Kim), Janet Patrice Jackson, Robert C. (Bob) Jackson; seven grandchildren: Jon Graham, Sheree Rogers, April Henderson, Sara Bonner, Will Jackson, Wes Jackson, Katelyn Jackson, and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at the Wrightsville First Christian Church, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Wrightsville First Christian Church. Rev. Roger Holley, Wade Williams and Ralph Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow the ceremony at Westview cemetery in Wrightsville.
Pallbearers will be Jon Graham, Will Jackson, Wes Jackson, Steve Chambers, Mike Chambers, and Curt Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Sumner, Jim Jackson, Fred Jackson, Ralph Jackson, Joseph Sumner, George Jackson, William Jackson and Ellis Jackson.
The family would like to express their appreciation to her special caregivers Shirley Taylor, Rosetta Knight, Beatrice Martin and Ruby Kate Rozier for the care that they provided.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wrightsville First Christian Church at P.O. Box 228, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of arrangements.
