Patricia "Patsy" Vernell Horton

Graveside funeral services for Patricia "Patsy" Vernell Horton, age 77 will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville. Rev. Jay Moore will officiate. Mrs. Horton was born October 30, 1942 in Wrightsville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Louise Meeks Sumner Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Randy Horton, and 2 brothers, Sonny Sumner, and Len Sumner. She attended Brown Memorial Baptist Church in her earlier years. She graduated Johnson County High School and went on to attend LaGrange College where she met the love of her life. She attended Jefferson Street Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church. She loved to play the piano and sing in the church choir. She was retired from Farmers Furniture where she worked in the accounting department. She was a good loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Horton passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 after fighting a long illness and other health issues at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Horton is survived by her 4 sons, Jeffrey William (Nancy) Horton of Clyo, Michael Henry (Debbie) Horton of Hernando, MS, Randy Bruce Horton of Dublin, and David Len (Brandi) Horton of Minter, a daughter, Melissa "Missy" Gaye (Chris Rutledge) Horton of East Dublin, 2 brothers, Randy Sumner of Milledgeville, and Ronnie "Jug Head" Sumner of Milledgeville, 2 sisters, Sharon Usery of Dublin, and Brenda Blackburn of Wrightsville, 8 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday September 29, 2020 at the funeral home. Social Distancing guidelines will be in effect and mask will be required by those attending as we are following the guidelines of the local health district and the CDC. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
