Funeral services for Mr. Percy P. Thompson, age 82, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Tim Tharp & Rev. L.T. Logue will officiate.
Mr. Thompson was born January 29, 1936 in Johnson County, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Grady Lanier Thompson, Sr. and Bessie Haywood Thompson and two brothers, Oscar Thompson and Grady L. Thompson, Jr. He retired as a supervisor from Oxford Industries after 41 years of service. Percy was a Godly man who had a deep rooted love for his church, Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, and for his family and friends. Being active in his church is what defined Percy. He had a love for singing and enjoyed being a part of the Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene Choir, the Trio and the Quartet. There is without a doubt that Percy is in Heaven singing with his Savior's heavenly choir. Mr. Thompson passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2018.
He is survived by three brothers, Leon Thompson, Billy Thompson and R.D. Thompson and three sisters, Pauline Harbin, Louise Coleman and Susie Dudley
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until funeral hour, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Tim Thompson, Bill Thompson, Rick Tooley, Lee Giles, Bobo Thompson and Marty Thompson.
