Mrs. Phyllis June Herring Pollard, age 80, of Rome, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, September 29, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Pollard was born in Macon, GA on February 20, 1941, daughter of the late Willie T. Herring and the late Mable Adams Herring. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Herring. A dedicated Pastor's wife and mother, Mrs. Pollard was a homemaker and was a member of Rome Baptist Temple. An accomplished pianist, Mrs. Pollard served as church pianist at Rome Baptist Temple for nearly 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Donnie Pollard, to whom she was married on June 7, 1958; a daughter, Jana Pollard Scarbary (Mack), Juliette, GA; 2 sons, Donald Pollard, Rome, and Chris Pollard (Denise), Manhattan, KS; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 4pm at Rome Baptist Temple with the Rev. Chris Hanks, the Rev. Bud Marten, and the Rev. Glen Martin officiating. Interment services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 3pm in Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Adrian, GA, under the direction of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Rome Baptist Temple on Friday from 2pm until the service hour.
