Phyllis Dianne Sullivan, age 66, of Dublin, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital, with her loved ones by her side. She will be deeply missed and will be remembered for her outgoing personality, witty sense of humor, her passion for singing, and most importantly, for her love for God and her family.
Phyllis was born June 9, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia. After attending Spencer High School, she joined the United States Army. Stationed primarily at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA, she also served two tours in South Korea as a signal corps NCO. She later spent an additional year in S. Korea as an English teacher. After moving around over the years, Phyllis finally settled in Dublin, Georgia, where she was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother Thera Newton Miller, and her grandson Caleb Michael Bailey. She is survived by her father, Phil Leshowitz of Portland OR, daughter Bobbi Bailey of Maryville TN, brother Danny (Sybil) Leshowitz of West Columbia SC, sister Patsy (James) Guthrie of LaGrange GA, sister Amy (Barry) Cook of Fortson GA, granddaughter Codi Bailey, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell AL where Rev. Tim Powell will officiate.
