Graveside services for Pickette LeSesne Bush Gaillard, age 95, will be held on Thursday, June17, at 10:00 a.m. at Dublin Memorial Gardens with Ronnie Dixon officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, from 6-8 pm, at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Calhoun, at 2328 Hwy 441 S, Dublin.
Mrs. Gaillard was born on July 29, 1925, in Dublin, Georgia to the late George Huggins Bush
and Loretta Clay Bush. Pickett was a graduate of Dublin High School and was a stellar
basketball player on the Irishettes basketball team. After graduation, she worked at Woolworth
in Dublin, where she was introduced by a friend to the love of her life, Tyrus Gaillard, who she
married three months later.
Pickette loved her role as a homemaker and additionally as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader,
Girls Auxiliary Director, Beginners Sunday School teacher at Olivet Baptist Church and special
needs substitute teacher for Dublin City Schools as well as a crossing guard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrus Felton Gaillard, Sr., her son Tyrus Felton
Gaillard, Jr., her beloved brother George Sidney Bush, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Calhoun (Mike), Donna Dixon (David), Mary Ann
Garrard, and Scott Gaillard (Tonya), sister in law Billye Watson Bush, nieces Susan Cross, Deb Bush, and nephew George Sidney Bush, Jr. Grandchildren Brian Calhoun, Kelly Mason (Brian),Traci Jones (Ray, Jr.), Renee Moore (Donnie), Mac Warren (Jamie), J.T. Warren, Paden Garrard, Ty Gaillard (Amber), Emily Rogers, and Shane Gaillard, John Gaillard, Addie Gaillard, and Alea Gaillard. She is also survived by 13 precious great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Serenity Hospice, 504 Parker Dairy Rd.,
Dublin, Georgia.
