Rayford J. Hester

Funeral services for Rayford J. Hester, age 87, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church with burial with military honors to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Robert Rogers will officiate. Mr. Hester was born January 3, 1935, in Soperton, Georgia. He was the son of the late Dewey and Gertrude Branch Hester. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a mail carrier. He was a faithful Christian man and was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Wylene Hester, son Jeb Hester and sister Wynell Hester McMichael. Mr. Hester passed away on April 24, 2022, at Navicent Health in Macon. He is survived by his wife Edith Hester of Dublin, son Ray F. Hester of Dublin, daughter Beth Loosberg (Andy) of Vidalia, adopted daughter Becky Turpler (Chris) of Rentz, brothers, Gene Hester (Edwina) of Soperton, Howard Hester (Ellen) of Cedartown, Paul Hester (Sandra) of Dublin and Truman Hester (Karen) of Dublin, and grandchild Tyler Hester. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tim Howard, Jeff Hall, Chris Crawford, Archie Heath, Steve Albritton and Ronnie Wilkes. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
