Raymond Morris Helton

Funeral services for Mr. Raymond Morris Helton, age 72, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Roger Byrd will officiate. Mr. Helton was born August 5, 1942 in Wilkinson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Robert Earl & Mattie Mae Howell Helton, a brother, James Buford Helton and two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Shirley Brack. He was of the Baptist faith having joined the Baptist church at an early age. He was a graduate of Wilkinson County High School and was a veteran of two years with the United States Army. He also served four years with the United States Army Reserves. He retired from Robins Air Force Base after many years of faithful service. During his free time, he enjoyed maintaining his yard and listening to good gospel music. On Thursday, May 14, 2015, God called Mr. Helton home. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Edna Foskey Helton of Nicklesville, two brothers, Robert (Wanelle) Helton and Julian (Joan) Helton all of Dublin and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Helton of Dublin. The family will receive friends from 12:45 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Buster Helton, Frank Helton, Tim Herring, Kenny Foskey, Jay Foskey and Joe McCullough. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Helton to a charity of your choice. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
