Rev. Jack Hinton, faithful minister in the Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years, passed away Saturday, February 1st, 2020 in his Adrian, Georgia home.
Rev. Hinton was born in Manhasset, Long Island, New York and was a United States Navy veteran. He served aboard the USS Midway during WWII and was awarded the Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. Pastor Hinton was 92 years old, having just celebrated his birthday the week before he went to be with his Lord and Savior. Of which, he took every opportunity to tell anyone he met, how the Lord gloriously saved him from a life of sin, all those many years ago. Preceding him in death, was his son, Wesley Hinton, and siblings Sandra Hinton and Kenneth Hinton.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Roxana Hinton, his son, Dr. Jack Hinton and daughter, Roxanne Hinton. He was the proud grandfather of Jeremy Hinton and Jana Hinton Whitlock; and, great grandfather to Hunter Hinton, Tyler Hinton and Reagan Whitlock.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Mt Olive Church of the Nazarene (591 Mt Olive Church Rd, Wrightsville, GA 31096), 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8th with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tim Tharp, Rev. L.T. Logue and Rev. Stephen Robinson will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 12:15 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bill Giles, Gary McCord, Edwin Knight, William Page, Robert Soles and Doyle Knight.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Suwannee Holiness Camp Association, c/o Patricia Snellgrove, P.O. Box 15861, Panama City, FL 32406-5861.
