Rev Lamar Rabun

Funeral services for Rev. Lamar Poole Rabun, Sr., age 89 , will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Barbara Nelson and Rev. Myron Wise will officiate. Mr. Rabun was born May 7, 1925 in Louisville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late James Robert Rabun, Sr. and Macy Lavonia Terry Rabun, his wife, Charlotte Dixon Rabun and a brother, James Robert Rabun, Jr. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army. Before retiring, he pastored many churches with the South Georgia Methodist Conference. He was also a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Rabun passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. He is survived by his son, Lamar (Pat) Rabun, Jr. of Thomasville, two daughters, Sheila (Jerry) Johnson of Garfield and Betty (Emory) Phillips of Ellaville, two brothers, Sam Rabun, and William Rabun and a sister, Mary Gibson all of Louisville, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
